Matthew Meagher

Mr. Meagher's experience in the acquisition and divestiture arena began upon graduation in 1981 from the university of Northern Colorado with a BA degree in Finance. From 1985 through 1992, Mr. Meagher was an advisor on Chevron's property divestitures.

Mr. Meagher has an unparalleled understanding of the A&D market and land issues. In December 1999, Mr. Meagher was voted "Landman of the Year" by the members of the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen. In 2012, he was the recipient of the Denver Business Journal's Energy and Natural Resources Power Book Award for his brokering of the ConocoPhillips' Agreement with the Colorado State Land Board. This transaction is the largest in the Land Board's history.

Mr. Meagher is a member of the DAPL, WEA and IPAA.

Teri Williams

Ms. Williams began her career in Oklahoma City as Land Manager for U.S. Mineral and Royalty Corporation. Following that, Ms. Williams was employed by Fairchild Oil Corporation, a Canadian-based exploration and production company.

In 1992, she joined Sullivan and Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she held dual roles as Land Manager and overseeing acquisitions and divestitures. Ms. Williams joined Meagher in 2001 and established a mid-continent office.

She is a member of IPAA and multiple ADAM Energy forums. Ms. Williams has held various positions on the boards of TAPL and IPAA.

Aaron M. Hugen, P.E.

Mr. Hugen graduated from Colorado School of Mines in 2009 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Engineering Economics. In June, 2009, he joined Blue Tip Energy, an upstream exploration and production company with operations located onshore United States, primarily Rockies and Mid Continent. As a project engineer and later, project manager at Blue Tip, Mr. Hugen provided high level asset planning, portfolio management, risk analysis, and asset valuations. Other responsibilities included engineering support with regard to facility optimization as well as screening projects for acquisition and developing data rooms for divestiture.

Mr. Hugen joined Meagher's Denver team in 2014 and assists with preparation and presentation of engineering data and reports.

He is a member of SPE, WEA and IPAA.

Nicholas H. Asher

Mr. Asher joined Meagher in 2008 and assists in the company's strategic development with an emphasis on marketing and client relations.

He began his oil and gas career as a royalty accountant for BWAB, LLC, and later served as a Director of Business Development, Rocky Mountain Region for Noble Royalties, Inc. Prior to joining Meagher, Mr. Asher worked as an independent landman with a focus on resource plays in the Rockies.

He is a 2004 graduate of the Colorado College with a BA in History. Mr. Asher is a member of WEA and IPAA.

Simon Cohn

Mr. Cohn joined Meagher in 2022 as an A&D Engineer to assist with all technical work for the data and engineering teams, including reserve analysis, data room compilation, and marketing presentations.

He began his career in 2011 at Whiting Petroleum Corporation as an Environmental Engineering consultant and moved into the Reserves and Reservoir Engineering department in 2013 in various supporting technical roles. In 2016, he began his M&A career with Tudor, Pickering, Holt, & Co on their technical team.

He holds a MS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of North Dakota, and a BS from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He is an active member of the SPE.

David C. Smith

Mr. Smith joined Meagher in 2023 to manage client’s engineering data analysis and presentations.

Mr. Smith has spent much of his oil and gas career founding and building E&P companies. At UCO Energy, he and his business partner leased 20,000 acres in the northern DJ Basin and secured a drilling partner in less than 2 years. In 2017, alongside 5 colleagues, David secured $350 million of PE funding to start Roundtable Energy which grew into the Powder River Basin operator Northwoods Energy. Most recently, he founded Timberline Energy Partners – a minerals and royalties investment fund - with two long-time colleagues in 2019. Mr. Smith began his career in the oil and gas industry with WPX Energy in 2013 as a Reservoir Engineer on their Exploration Team.

Mr. Smith holds a BS in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and is a member of SPE.

Mary Mape

Ms. Mape is the office manager for the corporate office.  Her responsibilities include all accounting functions, monthly financial reporting, and human resources.  Prior to joining Meagher, Mary had 25 years of office management experience in the healthcare industry and facilitated the successful merger of multiple business offices.


ADVISORY / CONSULTING TEAM MEMBERS:

Christopher J. McCarthy, P.E.

Mr. McCarthy began his career in 1999 with Marathon Oil Company as a Reservoir Engineer in the Petroleum Technology Center, later joining Marathon's Oklahoma Business Unit in 2001. After leaving Marathon in 2003, Mr. McCarthy joined EOG Resources' Rocky Mountain Division. With EOG, he led engineering efforts on many conventional and unconventional exploration and development plays throughout the Rocky Mountain region.

Mr. McCarthy joined Meagher in 2006 and served as its Executive Vice President from 2014 to 2023.

Mr. McCarthy is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Wyoming and a member of SPE, RMAG, WEA and IPAA. Mr. McCarthy holds a BA degree in Engineering Mathematics from Carroll College and a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech.

David Bickerstaff

A Petroleum Geologist and second-generation Oilman with over 30 years of industry experience, David is founder and President of Bickerstaff Associates, Inc. (BAI), a consulting firm providing geologic analysis, oil and gas property appraisal, and business advisory services.

David has worked with a diverse roster of clients and projects across the United States and abroad. With experience in all major US geologic basins, David's primary focus is the Rocky Mountain, Mid-Continent and West Texas regions. David has held positions at Equitable Resources, Inc. (EQT), Petrotechnical Resources of Alaska, and Meagher Energy Advisors, Inc. In addition to providing consulting services to Industry and O&G interest owners, David has grown BAI’s oil and gas production base through mineral acquisition, non-operated well participation, and lease acquisition.

David has a degree in Geology from the University of Montana, is an AAPG Certified Petroleum Geologist, a Registered Professional Geologist in the State of Wyoming, and a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists, the Montana Geologic Society and the National Association of Royalty Owners.

Brandi Daniels

Ms. Daniels began her career in the industry in 2007 with North American Petroleum Corporation US primarily as an Operations Technician.

Ms. Daniels joined the Meagher Energy Advisors team in 2012 as an Engineering Technician for their Tulsa office.

She holds a BS degree in Criminal Justice Administration.

Janice Hawkins

Ms. Hawkins began her career in the oil and gas industry in 1981 in the land department of Ocelot Oil Corp. In 1985, she became solely responsible for all phases of the Land Department, including acquisitions, divestitures, contracts, due diligence, and curative. After leaving in 1988, Ms. Hawkins worked primarily as an independent landman. She has extensive experience in unitization, division orders, lease records, regulatory agency reporting, revenue accounting and JIB accounting.

Ms. Hawkins joined the Meagher team in 2005. She serves as a landman for projects being handled by the Denver team.

She is a member of AAPL, DAPL, NADOA and DADOA.
