The people you meet when you walk through our doors are the people who work on your transaction. For each project, one principal of Meagher Energy Advisors is paired with a technical team and is engaged, one on one with you, from origination to closing. These specialists bring real industry experience, along with A&D advisory experience, to our proven process.


 

PRINCIPALS AND CO-OWNERS:

Matthew E. Meagher
President/Partner

Mr. Meagher's experience in the acquisition and divestiture arena began upon graduation in 1981 from the university of Northern Colorado with a BA degree in Finance.  From 1985 through 1992, Mr. Meagher was an advisor on Chevron's property divestitures.

Mr. Meagher has an unparalleled understanding of the A&D market and land issues.  In December 1999, Mr. Meagher was voted "Landman of the Year" by the members of the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen.  In 2012, he was the recipient of the Denver Business Journal's Energy and Natural Resources Power Book Award for his brokering of the ConocoPhillips' Agreement with the Colorado State Land Board.  This transaction is the largest in the Land Board's history.

Mr. Meagher is a member of the DAPL, AAPL, WEA and IPAA.

 

Teri L. Williams
Chief Operating Officer/Partner

Ms. Williams is a registered land professional, beginning her career in Oklahoma City as Land Manager for U.S. Mineral and Royalty Corporation.  Following that, Ms. Williams was employed by Fairchild Oil Corporation, a Canadian-based exploration and production company.

In 1992, she joined Sullivan and Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she held dual roles as Land Manager and overseeing acquisitions and divestitures.  Ms. Williams joined Meagher in 2001 and established a mid-continent office.

She is a member of AAPL, OCAPL, TAPL, IPAA and multiple ADAM Energy forums.  Ms. Williams has held various positions on the boards of TAPL and IPAA.


 

TECHNICAL TEAM MEMBERS:

Christopher J. McCarthy, P.E.
Executive Vice President 

Mr. McCarthy began his career in 1999 with Marathon Oil Company as a Reservoir Engineer in the Petroleum Technology Center, later joining Marathon's Oklahoma Business Unit in 2001.  After leaving Marathon in 2003, Mr. McCarthy joined EOG Resources' Rocky Mountain Division.  With EOG, he led engineering efforts on many conventional and unconventional exploration and development plays throughout the Rocky Mountain region.

Mr. McCarthy joined Meagher in 2006, and was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2014.

Mr. McCarthy is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Wyoming and a member of SPE, RMAG, WEA and IPAA.  Mr. McCarthy holds a BA degree in Engineering Mathematics from Carroll College and a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech.


 

Nicholas H. Asher 
Vice President Business Development

Mr. Asher joined Meagher in 2008 and assists in the company's strategic development with an emphasis on marketing and client relations.

He began his oil and gas career as a royalty accountant for BWAB, LLC, and later served as a Director of Business Development, Rocky Mountain Region for Noble Royalties, Inc.  Prior to joining Meagher, Mr. Asher worked as an independent landman with a focus on resource plays in the Rockies.

He is a 2004 graduate of the Colorado College with a BS in History.  Mr. Asher is a member of WEA and IPAA. 

Matthew R. Williams 
Vice President Business Development - Mid-Continent

Mr. Williams joined Meagher in 2013 as a director of Business Development for the Mid-Continent region.  While attending Oklahoma State University, he interned for Chesapeake Energy Corporation for two years in the A&D Department.  He subsequently worked for several land brokerage firms, the most recent of which his assignment was a three year placement at ConocoPhillips in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Mr. Williams is a member of OIPA, TAPL and ADAM Tulsa. 

Tom Schaefer 
Senior Advisor

Mr. Schaefer began his career in 1995 with Mobil Oil as a reservoir engineer and has spent his career working in both the oil and gas upstream and service sector in acquisitions and divestures and project management. He has worked in 17 countries for U.S. and International oil and gas companies, service companies, legal firms and insurance companies. Mr. Schaefer is a certified project manager, member of SPE, IPAA, GLG, and holds the FINRA Series 7 and 63 certifications. He holds a BS in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas.

Jacque L. Semple
Project Coordinator

Ms. Semple began her career in the industry with Dyco Petroleum Corporation.  Subsequently she went to Grand Resources in Tulsa, Oklahoma, until she became a partner in StarGas Corp.  In 1996 she joined Sullivan & Company and left to work the Mid-Continent as Vice President of Marketing for the Oil & Gas Journal Exchange.

Ms. Semple joined Meagher in August 2002 as Project Coordinator.  Ms. Semple is the primary point of contact for all projects generated by the Tulsa office.

Ms. Semple is a member of IPAA, OIPA and TAPL.


 

Aaron M. Hugen, P.E.
Engineering Manager

Mr. Hugen graduated from Colorado School of Mines in 2009 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Engineering Economics.  In June, 2009, he joined Blue Tip Energy, an upstream exploration and production company with operations located onshore United States, primarily Rockies and Mid Continent.  As a project engineer and later, project manager at Blue Tip, Mr. Hugen provided high level asset planning, portfolio management, risk analysis, and asset valuations.  Other responsibilities included engineering support with regard to facility optimization as well as screening projects for acquisition and developing data rooms for divestiture.

Mr. Hugen joined Meagher's Denver team in 2014 and assists with preparation and presentation of engineering data and reports.

He is a member of SPE, WEA and IPAA.


 
Bob McNulty, P.E. 
Consulting Reservoir Engineer

Mr. McNulty has over 30 years of industry experience with field operations, reserve evaluation, state regulatory issues and drilling prospect analysis. He was employed by several Oklahoma-based exploration companies, including Harper Oil, Kaiser-Francis, Colt Resources and Cimarex, before establishing a reservoir engineering consulting practice in 2004.  He holds a BS degree in physics from Vanderbilt University, a MS in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from Oklahoma State University. He is a 25-year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a licensed Professional Engineer in Oklahoma and Kansas. Since joining Meagher in early 2007, Mr. McNulty provides geologic and engineering support to clients being served by the Tulsa office.
 

Brandi Daniels
Engineering Technician

Ms. Daniels began her career in the industry in 2007 with North American Petroleum Corporation US primarly as an Operations Technician. 

Ms. Daniels joined the Meagher Energy Advisors team in 2012 as an Engineering Technician for their Tulsa office.

She holds a BS degree in Criminal Justice Administration.

Janice Hawkins
Landman

Ms. Hawkins began her career in the oil and gas industry in 1981 in the land department of Ocelot Oil Corp.  In 1985, she became solely responsible for all phases of the Land Department, including acquisitions, divestitures, contracts, due diligence, and curative.  After leaving in 1988, Ms. Hawkins worked primarily as an independent landman.  She has extensive experience in unitization, division orders, lease records, regulatory agency reporting, revenue accounting and JIB accounting.

Ms. Hawkins joined the Meagher team in 2005.  She serves as the lead landman for projects being handled by the Denver team.

She is a member of AAPL, DAPL, NADOA and DADOA.


 

David Bickerstaff
Consulting Geologist

Mr. Bickerstaff started his career as a Geologist in 1989 working for Norandas' Crown Butte gold and copper project in southwest Montana.  In 1992 Mr. Bickerstaff joined Equitable Resources, Inc. as a Petroleum Geologist focused on oil field development including reservoir characterization and water flood design primarily in the Uinta Basin.  David founded his own consulting and exploration firm in 1997, providing acquisition and divestment advisory services, property appraisals, producing property development, oil and gas exploration and well site geology/geosteering services to a diverse roster of clients in the Rocky Mountain region and Alaska.

Mr. Bickerstaff joined Meagher's Denver office in 2005 and provides geologic and technical services including property evaluation, enhancement and presentation.

David is a Registered Professional Geologist in the state of Wyoming and a member of RMAG, AAPG, MGS, WEA and IPAA.  Mr. Bickerstaff received his BA degree in Geology from the University of Montana.  


 

Mary Mape
Office Manager

Ms. Mape entered the oil and gas industry in 2006 as an independent accounting contractor at Meagher's Colorado headquarters.  Since 2007, Mary operates as the office manager for the corporate office.  Her responsibilities include all accounting functions, monthly financial reporting and human resources.

Prior to joining Meagher, Mary had 25 years of office management experience in the healthcare industry and facilitated the successful merger of multiple business offices.
