Chesapeake Northern Michigan
Northern Michigan
Silurian A-1 Carbonate
and Ordovician Collingwood Shale
Development Opportunity

| GEOLOGIC SUMMARY: |
Chesapeake’s leasehold overlies two emerging resource plays, the Silurian A-1 Carbonate and the Ordovician Collingwood Shale. Both the Collingwood and A-1 Carbonate formations offer the potential for wet gas production, with the strong possibility of oil and condensate production. Additionally, Chesapeake’s acreage offers potential for conventional prospects in proven, oil-rich carbonate formations such as the Devonian Dundee and Detroit River in the northeastern Michigan Basin, where deep-seated fractures have created hydrothermal dolomite reservoirs. |
